Take Action Today (formerly VIP Q & A)
The
tragic events which occurred on September 11 have
triggered many people to re-think their priorities. As
the mother of 2 daughters, with another child due this
holiday season, the tragedy has certainly helped me
focus on the important aspects of life. Things that I
once viewed as troublesome have now become so trivial.
Strengthening relationships, improving health, living in
the moment and pursuing dreams seem to be on most
people's agendas these days. This is one of the gifts
that came out of this horrible tragedy. Since no one
truly knows what will happen tomorrow, I've observed
more people being conscious of today. I have recently
spoken to several adult students who claim, "I have
always loved to sing but never pursued it." It is a
thrill to see them take action by enrolling in vocal
lessons and pursuing their dream to sing on a higher
level. It just doesn't make sense to wait any longer. It
is never too late to nurture something true to your
heart. Just think how you would feel in your old age
knowing that in your lifetime you were just too afraid
to take that chance. On the other hand, by taking charge
and living your dreams, think of what a wonderful role
model you will be to your children, family members and
other singer wannabes! Think of how happy YOU would be!
Don't delay another moment. Whether it be taking voice
lessons or simply performing a song for your family,
leave any negative inner voices behind and take action
on your dreams TODAY - you deserve all the joy it will
bring!

Vocal Tip
To
help decrease mucus in the back of your throat, try
drinking room temperature seltzer (flavored is fine as
long as there is NO corn syrup). The carbonation bubbles
help break down any excess mucus build-up on your
throat, thus leaving a clearer passage for vocal
production.

Notable Quotables
"Nothing
ever becomes real till it is experienced." -John
Keats
"No
one has yet fully realized the wealth of sympathy,
kindness and generosity hidden in the soul of a child.
The effort of every true education should be to unlock
that treasure." -Emma Goldman
