3. VIP Q & A
Happy Holidays! I have a request for all you singers AND
non-singers - SING this holiday season!
This is especially important to the non-singers in that
singing during the holidays is not about singing
perfectly. It is about finding joy through song, sharing
special times with loved ones and creating wonderful
memories. For you singers, it is a fantastic time to
share your voice not just with family and friends, but
also perhaps at a local hospital or nursing home. That
is a true holiday gift. If you are a seasoned singer
performing at a company holiday party, let the spirit of
the holidays radiate through your voice. Many holiday
songs are beautiful compositions - sing them from your
heart and all your listeners with receive a memorable
gift. As a professional singer, I know how easy it is to
look at a gig as just another gig. Keep in mind that
your listener may be hearing you for the first and
possibly last time. What kind of impact could you have
on that listener? As soon as that passion is gone, it
may be time to stop gigging!
Whatever your level or age, everyone can find enjoyment
in singing this and every holiday season. May your
holidays be full of love and song!

4. Vocal Tip
At the onset of a sneeze, try the following. Open up
your nostrils and push your lips forward making a "ch"
sound as you sneeze. This will take any pressure off
your throat, which can easily be irritated during a
sneeze. You shouldn't hold back your sneeze nor should
you loudly explode as you sneeze (both of which could
irritate the back of your throat in just a second and
keep you hoarse for days!) Sneeze with care!

it with my hands and see it with my eyes."

-Ellen Kay
