Piano lessons . . .For many, these two words conjure up thoughts of boring scales, tedious counting (“One and Two and Three and Four and”!), being reminded to “curl your fingers” ad nauseam and even possibly rulers (the ones that were supposed to be used for measurement!)

Many students experience weekly emotions of anxiety and fear as they await their teacher's arrivals. Symphonies of excuses run through their minds to explain their lack of preparedness. Some students even misplace their music and assignment books in efforts to avoid having to perform those unprepared assignments and boring exercises. A student-under-stress' creative options, to survive the 30 minute once a week "torture”, are nothing shy of incredible! STOP! Let's create a new sound in your mind, for we have evolved.

The first lesson. The student eagerly awaits his new teacher. The teacher arrives with a smile, a warm handshake and a gentle voice. The lesson begins with an exchange of the student's desires and dreams for their accomplishment at this wonderful instrument. The lesson does not end with the student having to practice a scale and memorize an acronym (“Every Good Boy Does Fine”) and finger numbers, but instead, with the student having learned a song.

The student excitedly runs from the piano to share his new accomplishment with his mom or dad. “Mom, look what I learned!” And it's not just a simple nursery rhyme. For many, it is a fully recognizable, musical production with two hands! We have evolved, and we will continue to do so.

The Music Simply Music program is committed to providing the most enjoyable, and emotionally successful lesson on a private lesson level. The only ties to tradition, are those that have proven to turn people onto the making and learning of music. Each student/teacher team creates a path of musical learning that is appropriate for the student, that meets the student's individual needs. Traditional method books are put aside for enjoyable songs. Acronyms are replaced with Music Sound Pictures™. And rote memorization is replaced with a vocabulary of sound. It's no wonder that over 90% of our students stay with us for 5 years or more! It's no wonder that our reputation in the industry is for turning students on who have been turned off by more traditional methods.
