The MSM Student Recital 2011

Hi Nick- I just wanted to let you know that we were very impressed with our first Music Simply Music recital. We loved the supportive, positive environment that allowed both of our daughters to share their piano playing with family and friends. I would also like to express our gratitude to Ricardo, who has made Brooke's and Emma's first year of playing piano a wonderful experience for them. We look forward to watching them continue to progress in the months and years ahead.

Thanks Nick! We had a terrific time. We really enjoy the recital and the kids are always so proud of themselves. Every year is the same, I worry that my son, in particular is not ready and he makes mistakes up until the morning of the recital! I am a nervous wreck for him because I should have enforced his practice more. Then he gets to the church, gets really excited and inspired and every year plays flawlessly! I have come to understand that at that moment, he wants to do his best. He is able to do that because Joe is an amazing teacher. I don't know how he does it, but he has the patience of a saint and he is really good at what he does. 

So again, thanks for a great night and providing us with such a terrific program.

Dear Music SImply Music Staff,

We want to thank you for, once again, a beautiful recital. You are all so professional, energetic, and spirited. We had a wonderful time. We especially enjoyed the early date this year. Our daughter, Lauren, was really able to enjoy the recital rather than worrying about all of the other pressures of dance recitals, ELA tests, end of the year projects, etc. It was a time to just concentrate on her guitar and enjoy playing for the audience. You are truly a special group of people. It is obvious how hard you all work, and how much you love music. Thank you for sharing that and helping my daughter to love music too.

Dear Nick,

It was a pleasure meeting you last week at the Music Simply Music Recital. For my 2 daughters, Julia (9) and Sophia (6), this was their first recital and one we will always remember. Julia started taking lessons a little over a year ago while Sophia started in the last few months. I sat in the audience with such great pride to see the confidence they have built and their own pride in what they have accomplished. I echo the remarks you shared with the audience regarding the natural anxiety that can build while standing on stage. My daughters, as well as every one of the children who performed, demonstrated such poise and confidence which was absolutely incredible. The smiles on my children's faces before, during and after the performance tell the whole story. They were so proud to have an opportunity to be given the forum to share their music and I believe this did wonders for their confidence. 

I really enjoyed the commentary you gave throughout the performance. You stressed the importance of each child trying their best without having to worry about being perfect. As well your emphasis on fostering a love of the arts in general and music specifically is right on target. Children today have far too much pressure on them to excel on standardized tests while sadly, the arts are taking a backseat in the curriculum. I feel fortunate to be able to give my children the gift of music and they have the desire to accept this gift. Music Simply Music does an outstanding job in cultivating this love of the arts and I applaud you for your efforts.

I would be remiss if I did not recognize Denise for being an excellent teacher for my girls. She is very patient, warm and dedicated and my daughters look forward to seeing her each week. I really appreciated the detail in recognizing Sophia for "Spirit" and Julia for "Commitment". Those two words really fit my girls and I think it was great how you tied this in to the award ceremony.

Thank you again for all you are doing with your amazing program. I am looking forward to more wonderful music from Julia and Sophia and will see you at next year's recital.

Hi Nick!!

Thank you so much for always making the kids feel so special. Vincent was so nervous this year! But, I think the relaxed atmosphere and the exciting energy helped him to relax and enjoy the day. We look forward to this day every year and we are so proud of Vincent and his accomplishments. And the best part of all is that at the end, he was so happy and proud of himself. And I think that feeling will give him the confidence to succeed in many aspects of life. Thank you for hosting such a special event. You, Keith and Diane are amazing and we are so proud to be a part of the music simply music family.
